Diabetes Subtypes

Type 2 diabetes is a heterogeneous disease, and a one-size-fits-all approach to risk prediction and treatment may miss important variation across patient subgroups. This project uses large-scale electronic health record data to identify clinically meaningful subtypes of newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes and characterize their distinct risk profiles for downstream complications.

This is an ongoing collaboration with Jithin Sam Varghese, KM Venkat Narayan, and Mohammed K Ali.
